Hjalmar Strömerskolan high school is looking for a high school teacher in Swedish and Swedish as a second language for the autumn of 2026. The school has about 250 high school students distributed across ten national programs and introductory programs. Hjalmar Strömerskolan is a smaller, personal school focused on good study results, international collaborations, and close contact between students and staff.

We operate in close collaboration with the local business community and other organizations. The school is certified as a Care and Nursing College and a Technology College, and also graduates certified high school economists. We actively work with the knowledge and value foundation assignment and have a good structure for systematic quality work.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The position includes teaching in the high school programs. As a teacher, you are responsible for the courses or subjects included in the position and work with the entire teaching process.

This means:

• Planning and implementation of teaching
• Assessment, examination, and grading
• Feedback and follow-up on students' development

You are part of both subject teams and program teams and actively contribute to the school's joint development work. Collegial learning is a central part of our operations, and you will have the opportunity to participate in both pedagogical discussions and development efforts.

For new teachers, we offer structured mentoring support to provide a good start in the assignment.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has a teaching license with the qualification to teach at the high school level.

• You are an engaged and knowledgeable subject teacher with good pedagogical skills and a desire to work with varied teaching methods.
• You create good relationships with students and have a clear and secure leadership in the classroom.
• You work formatively, advocate for inclusion, and adapt teaching based on students' different needs and conditions.
• You are accustomed to using digital tools in teaching and see IT as a natural support in pedagogical work.
